In this practice you will watch each skill key progression with the intention of really understanding the skill areas. When you are confident that you have a good picture in your mind of how the progressions are executed, close your eyes, and visualize yourself mentally executing the progressions.

Sequential Learning: Progression drills break down a skill into smaller, manageable components or steps

Targeted Focus: Progression drills can help goalies identify and address specific areas of weakness. By breaking down a skill into smaller components, goalies can pinpoint the aspects that require improvement. This focused approach allows for a more purposeful practice, enabling goalies to concentrate on specific skill keys of the technique until they achieve mastery.

Transferable Skills: Progression drills help goalies develop the specific skill keys that can be applied to the efficient execution of the whole skill and ultimately in complex game situations.

Focus on Fundamentals: Progression drills Master the fundamentals of the skill before moving on to more advanced techniques. Develop a strong foundation to ensure long-term progress. Pay attention to the basics, technique, and core principles.

Mental Preparation: Visualization allows you to mentally rehearse the skill before physically attempting it. By visualizing the movements, you can prepare yourself mentally for the task at hand. This can help reduce apprehension, boost confidence, and enhance focus when it comes time to perform the skill.

Complementary Training: Visualization can be used as a training tool when you want to supplement your training or when physical practice is limited . This mental practice approach will still allow you to mentally rehearse the skill in order to build the pathways in your brain that will improve the mind to muscle communication.
